PDA100 gives capacity, speed comp, positive shutoff A Gandy 2.3 cu. ft. polyethylene hopper with stainless steel positive displacement design brings new capacity and metering precision in the application of granular chemicals. This 100-lb. capacity (approximate) poly hopper provides king-sized capacity for treating large acreages, is translucent for visibility in checking content level, and has a choice of solid lid or lid with molded opening for a Lock n' Load valve. The PDA100 hopper features an enclosed housing metering system with 2, 3, or 4 outlets, an easy cleanout spout behind each outlet, and choice of full-rate or half-rate metering wheels in a weather-tight stainless steel and nylon housing. They are designed to meter most granular chemicals and additives. An optional agitator is also available for materials which tend to bridge. Completed with a ground drive, these hoppers provide speed compensation to maintain constant rates across the field, even when tractor speed varies. Material flow stops when the drive stops. In addition to ground drive or drive from a parent planter, hoppers can be driven by 12-volt electric motor when speed compensation is not required. One 1/64 hp motor may drive up to two hoppers using connector drive tubes. A sprocket cluster is used to change rates for different chemicals for different soil types or crops. Factory-calibrated rate charts are based on input from the Gandy ground drive or parent planter drive of 2 or 4 revolutions in 88 feet. Calibration, while essential, is streamlined to get you going quickly in the field.

Precise clearances meet demands of granular chemical application
The precise specifications of the enclosed metering system meet the demands of today's granular formulations which require positive shutoff, less contact with materials through transfer from sealed containers such as Lock n' Load, and precise clearances to reduce chances for loss. The hopper size as well as its low density polyethylene construction permits large acreage coverage with the ability to monitor the contents level at all times. An optional clutch package permits shutting delivery off before reaching headlands to avoid over application.

The hopper can be ordered with 2, 3, or 4 outlets having full-rate or half-rate wheels installed, whichever is desired for your application. A bolt-on metering wheel-housing assembly can be ordered if your operation requires substituting the wheel choice for secondary operations. Disconnect the drive, unbolt original housing, slide out the metering shaft, then substitute the secondary housing and replace the shaft.

Clean out spouts located behind each metering wheel feature a convenient threaded cap for quick, complete closure. Their location provides for virtual emptying and capture of unused material. As always, contents should not be left in hopper for long periods as humidity alone may restrict their flowability. Optional agitators which assemble to the internal shafts may assist in dispensing products which tend to bridge.

For speed compensation, units need to be ground driven, however, other operations may substitute the 12-volt 1/64 hp motor package which may drive up to two hoppers connected in-line.

Application rate for either ground or electric drive is set by a choice of sprockets from a sprocket cluster package which includes chain and chain guard.

	A stainless steel metering assembly with nylon metering wheels and housing provide an accurate and durable system, and clean out ports provide an efficient method to empty the hopper. Translucent natural poly hopper shows contents level. Hopper cover, available with or without Lock n' Load valve opening, includes flexible draw latches and is reflective silver.
	The reflective hopper lid includes flexible draw latches and are available in a solid configuration or with opening accommodating a Lock n' Load valve. Hopper package includes a "U" frame to provide mounting surface, stainless steel metering base, nylon wheels and housing. Tubing, hose clamps, drive, and rate-setting sprocket package are ordered separately.
